and this....

....indicates that between 500 and 4000 people die each year in canada due to flu and related illness.

so, what`s the fuss about one or two cases of reported infection?

i`ve had symptoms of flu on and off for around three weeks and so when i was able i rested and took in more fluids, and when i felt better in a day or two, went right back to training like mad.......

....and i didn`t die.

but i`m not ill, old, an infant or otherwise suffering from some sort of likelyhood of being killed by a minor virus.

anyway, the good news is that surgical masks now come in designer colours, with team logos and instructions for extra stupid people so they don`t wear them upside down.

Yes, but you would not believe how excited the BBC and the doctors and scientists and experts and politicians are getting about this 'flu. They have been willing it to come, they need a global pandemic desperately, and don't want to be let down by a few mild symptoms. They want deaths by the thousand so that they can do their bit to prevent some of them, and have glory.

WHO calls in a level 5 (out of 6) which means "imminent pandemic"

then this from australia ministry or health:

"(We can make) sure that people are isolated and perhaps detained if they don't cooperate and are showing symptoms," said Health Minister Nicola Roxon.

lol

didn't knew that people will make business with surgical masks too...
lol

but I guess...prevention is better than cure...if it develops into some virulent form in human ..it might be dangeorus..

Why didn't you tell us you were sick? Now I have to run Norton Antivirus to protect myself. I wonder if I should wear a condom while blogging.

grant, i apologise. i`ll try not to cough when typing....

....but seriously, i train a lot and it hits the immune system to the point where i exhibit flu-like symptoms. i use that as an indicator that i need a day off occasionally.

i moved recently and the condo is at the top of the escarpment north of burlington on lake ontario. the ride is great going down the hill, but it`s a bitch on the way back up.....especially into the wind, like on monday.
