so, only primative alien life?
so how do you make the distinction steven......?
us non-astro-physicists see no logic in your observation.
you feel it`s safe to say that there might be bugs under a rock on saturn, but no technologically advanced civilisation on pluto, merely hiding from insane humans.
alrighty then stevo......

I'm still waiting to see if we get the "WOW!" signal again during my lifetime.
It's a pretty timid assumption made by a scientist working out of his field. Most scientists accept the probability that life exists elsewhere in the cosmos.
personally, i think the "wow" signal was a static discharge or something.
and seti in general is based on some gaspingly poor assumptions.
i also think that it is important that scientists do work out of thier field. i am reading richard fynman`s autobiography presently and he describes what it`s like to be a physicist working in biology research. he came close to a breakthrough in dna research while, in his words, fucking about in someone else`s playground....
i though it niave and poorly thought out of hawking to say such a logically unfounded thing about alien life though.
