something funny is going on.

in fact, it`s downright peculiar.

all of the toasters in the known universe are found on the surface of this planet, and nowhere else.

hmmm.

and so, i`m wondering.......is there a planet somewhere that contains all of the lost socks, or do they just vanish into some n-space, never to be seen again?

and for all the athiests out there, i have a question......

who made the device that made the sun?

The lost sock phenomenon is a weird one. If you take your laundry to a laundromat, somehow they get lost in transit or stuck to the side of the washer or dryer and that is how you sometimes end up with a sock that you know isn't yours. Why this doesn't happen with other articles of clothing (OK, sometimes the odd dingy cotton panty) is the real mystery.

I've had socks disappear IN MY OWN HOME. It's not like I take one sock off and fling the other across the room. Nor do I have cats or sock-bearing pets. But I have patience and the sock will turn up.

i call it the one sock constant, or alistair phenomenon.

similar to the inverse square law, the more important the sock, the more likely it will be sucked into some sock-eating vortex...

i still have one hugo boss sock in my drawer as a reminder.....a beautiful embroidered silk device for enclosing one`s metatarsals in, in preparation for the wearing of one`s john mccann brogues......

Well, Dr. A, you certainly live in YOUR OWN UNIVERSE! What with favorite socks and all. I do have a couple of favorite athletic socks (you may have noticed them paired with my orange sneakers) and both pairs were gifts from a friend. I don't actually wear them...athletically!

But cushy socks are nice. If you were really A-R about your socks, you'd pin them together.

Funny, the word verification is msqczzb...not sure if it'll take...usually takes me a coupla tries...

i wear my john mccanns with jeans now......and i`m certainly not A-R about my socks as i`m past that phase.......although i do like my whites white......

but if i`ve nothing clean, then grey will do.

the other stuff was a different lifetime, one of suits and meetings and deals.

a game.

and i grew tired of it.

i watched american psycho recently and was reminded of how obsessive one can become, though....i never killed anyone...that i remember.

American psycho?
My favorite. there is nothing better than a dissociated fugue state to help one cope with reality.
I never liked Hughy Lewis much though.
