wilhelm reich.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelm_Reich

amongst a number of clinical researchers imprisoned for thier work in human developement.

others who have been similarly treated include royal rife, who`s work is, alongside reich`s, being resurrected thanks to the open nature of information on the internet.

these pioneers in healing are part of what the american medical association have helped to characterise as "quacks."

wait until you learn exactly what the a.m.a. is really all about.

Looks like the Internet maybe the most significant invention in a long while. However I am sure soon the anonymity of the Internet will be done away with - the govt. will use sex crimes as an excuse to come up with draconian laws.

sj, i tend to agree, but i`m not sure that sex crimes will be the reason.

i think that soon it will more difficult to access info via the internet as it becomes more of a commercial medium.

The A.M.A is run by the pharmaceutical companies nowadays. Anything that confronts tradition drugs is branded as quakery. I bet it was the same back then.

Dr.Alistair said...

yes it was. the a.m.a was founded to adress the concerns that medical doctors had for losing part of what they believed they had a soveriegn right to.

market share.

some may characterise the field as healing or wellness, but do we naturally feel that doctors provide this service, or are they merely selling drugs?

I've read some about Dr. Reich, and his theories of orgone energy. I do plan on getting back to him at some point, just to see what I can gleam from him.

There's the famous story of him giving an orgone box to Einstein, who tested it and found that the temperature inside raised slightly (less than a degree F.). Einstein's opinion: convection.

He certainly was an original thinker. But I'm wondering if there might be a metavalidity to his work instead of an empirical validity.

a higher form of validity than that of empirical science?

a heresy sir.......

I don't claim to be a scientist.

and niether are you a dogmatist, for which i am grateful.

i was merely attempting to be humourous.

the nuance sometimes fails to translate via the typed word.

my view is that reich`s work was effective in that it resonated with something within our own bodies inate ability to heal, give the right commands or permissions.

much as hypnosis does.
