What's this? A reputable Crowley text!?! I'm interested! ;>)

Did you ever check out zac's series on Ashtanga yoga and the 8 limbs?

crowley was a greatly misunderstood man.

and a fool to think he could be as bombastic as he was in polite post victorian culture, just because he knew shit.

he suffered the hubris of the didactic will, unlike gurdjieff, who was able to contain himself in the company of women.

the oroboros. the snake consuming it`s self.

that was the name i was trying to remember.

reaching the stage of yoga is unteachable. however, how to relax so one can perform yoga is teachable. yoga is a trance, to fall in that trance you need a voice guiding you because sometimes there is too much voice inside yourself and to block that you need a coming voice as guidance. does that make sense? I have been trying to sit and listen to myself, but it's has not worked yet because i am over worked within myself. a loving voice telling me to relax i think would help. i am looking for that voice.

i have not bought any fashionable yoga clothes, i just use my jeans.

Wouldn`t you find that voice arousing?

Dr.Alistair said...

any voices in a meditative state are to be ignored.

it is the practive of ignoring stimulus that allows for an inner exploration to begin.

listening for the small quiet voice within takes sensitive ears.

and patience.

depends what that voice is saying....i guess it can be arousing. but that is or should not be the intent of that voice.

voices in the meditative state are to be ignored.....agreed.

there is so much activity going on that it is hard to sit calmly and explore within.

i probably don't think i have a sensitive ear yet or patience for myself.

yoga is an art.......everyone can learn to be an artist. some are very good and are natural, where as others have to take classes and perfect the art. it is achievable.

CM, i guess if the voice was of Dr. A, you are right, it might be arousing.

there's a lot of hot women that practice yoga.....

Dr.Alistair said...

ricardo, you are correct sir.

chrissy, it takes time to become acustomed to watching yourself being detached from the imputs of the physical world.

the second video, about the fourth way, goes into that.

I've been busy but thought I should stop by to bug you.

Yoga, that would be a good name for a model of a car.

But for exercise and great peace of mind sex is the best act on the planet. Were it not for the fact that most folks are so busy chasing money and material things that they don't stop and do good sex properly.

I've tried to meditate but two seconds into and I am thinking did I download that song? Wonder what's for breakfast? WHy does my crotch itch?

As you say it require patience and I am not good at that.

And the original practitioners didn't wore no clothes or minimal clothes.
