tv.

the one eye`d monster.

does anyone actually like tv?

there is never anything on is there?

but we watch.

well, actually, you watch.

i own a tv but there is no media signal coming in the back from the cable company.

the only time the tv is on is when the x-box is running or i`m watching a movie with the kids.

marshall mcluhan, a media analyst from the `70s said that there is so little in the way of data being transmitted by the tv. that the conscious mind goes to sleep within a few minutes of watching.

what continues to watch is a trance-induced entity that you have become.

the consumer.

and you guys will buy anything.

politics.

wars.

taxation.

healthcare.

more wars.

pelosi.bush.kerry.reagan.clinton.gore.

the terminator is now the governor of california.

and what are you eating and drinking?

don`t supersize me thanks.

I for one enjoy being entranced.

well, yes, when you realise it`s being done and you enjoy it.

like at a rock concert or out in nature or talking with the girl behind the counter at starbucks while people wait politely for thier coffee.......

I don't have cable, or a dish, the only time I turn my TV on is when I get a movie to watch.

Alistair.... No stalemate here, I'm washing my hands of women. If Laurel Ann's hubby dies then I will go knocking on her door.

We've known each other since I moved here and we have the same values and likes and such.

You can have the rest of them. Enjoy. Oh hey, I've got a quote for you buddy, keep it in mind when dealing with women.

I hear what you are saying, but I see what you are doing.

I like the music only channels (no pictures just nonstop 24 hour rock or blues etc..

I can watch the cartoon channels with the kids but now Nickelodeon is pushing shows with "street talk"
Which I don't want my kids exposed to while their vocabulaies are being developed.

yeah, we can do some things to cut off the steady stream of cultural programming.

but we still have to drop them off at school sometime.

it`s the law.

Ever heard of home schooling?

I used to home school until I found out I lived next to a decent elementary. But if things ever go tits up, my kids will be back home learning from me. scary huh?

the political indoctrination of the protestant school board here is preferable to the cathoholic school that my ex wanted to send the kids to. it was right at the corner of our street.

i would prefer to have my children kept from the mind contol period but the only alternative is, as you guys pointed out, to teach them at home.

i thought about it but they need the social interaction aspect of school. seeing thier friends is vital to thier developement.

besides they need to have a balance, having an eccentric father.

it has been said on more than one occasion that life imitates art, so why not have a terminator and a john connor on opposite sides of the dirtworld fence.
